Community Energy: just how much demand is there for it? A survey from Aaron Gould

Community Energy Survey requesting your input
Aaron Gould, a contact of ours who happens to work at the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change, is working on a private research project to figure out the demand and capabilities for local energy in the UK. He’s put together a short survey (I took it in less than 10 minutes) as part of the data gathering process.
When he’s done the report, he’ll make it available for transitioners to help with their initiative’s own plans. Here’s an exerpt from the intro to the survey:
“Community Energy has a key role to play in the UK’s future energy mix. We are told that it brings people together, reduces bills, and helps for the environment. Many organisations are working to make it easier for communities to set up their own schemes, but very little is known about the level of interest in this type of energy.
This short survey explores the latent demand for Community Energy; who has done it, who hasn’t, and why? What technologies are being used, how much energy do they generate, and who is it being generated for?
Whether you’ve never even considered Community Energy or you’ve set up a city-wide scheme, your experiences and opinions are imperative in answering these questions. If you have 5-10 minutes please contribute to this very important survey at the following link.”
