Country regions listings particularly France

One of the issues we’ve been looking into in phase 3 is that the location module doesn’t have a range of ‘regions’ for some countries, particularly France. We have researched this and found that this is a known issue for the module, for which we are going to add a ‘patch‘ with a longer list of regions. We will publish the patch (and the longer region list) during the week beginning 17th January.
Patches aren’t the safest way to go with software as we can’t guarantee that the patch will be included in the next update of the module, so we could find ourselves in a bit of a situation. But we think it’s worth the risk as the region list isn’t great, and, if you can help, perhaps we can help with the module’s progress. We will not manually add regions to our list as this will take us too far ‘off piste’ with the module’s development, but if the longer list is no good, let’s help them find an authoritative source for the French regions to use (more below).
If you are in France, and want to add an initiative before (approximately) 20th January, you can either add your initiative and chose a region from the current region list and update it when we add the new region list, or wait until the latest update (by 20th January-ish).

How can we help the module?
Well, we’ve noted that there is some confusion around the module and where it takes its regional data from. We will always use the regions list provided by the module, so..
