DENIAL, STORIES AND VISIONS: London UK, 3-part workshop on Climate and Ecology

A three-part workshop for people promoting wider engagement with climate change based in Central London, UK.
Each part takes place over a Friday evening and all day Saturday:
- Part 1: Friday 23rd July and Saturday 24th July
- Part 2: Friday 30th July and Saturday 31st July
- Part 3: Friday 17th September and Saturday 18th September
COST: Individuals £225 Organisations £450
About the course:
Participants are likely to be environmental campaigners working for major sustainability organisations, members of Transition Towns and other local eco-groups, sustainability consultants, and Corporate Social Responsibility practitioners within large corporations.
The content focuses on participants’ real experiences of denial; provides tutorial input on the underlying psychology of denial; and supports participants to develop their personal strategies for dealing with its impacts and to learn how to try to avoid triggering denial. Some participants may also explore levels of denial within themselves. The learning methods will combine creative, experiential work with tutorials, and buddy relationships support the undertaking of assignments between the three parts.

About the facilitator:
Sandra White works as an ecopsychology consultant and facilitator and has a background in cultural change within government and business. She is a founding member of Transition Hertford. She also offers bereavement counselling and all her work is rooted in long-term study and practise of depth psychology. She is author of ‘Denial, Stories and Visions’ published in Greenpeace Business and Sustainable Business, Winter and Spring 2010 editions, respectively, and ‘White Lilies: Sacrifice, Transformation and Renewal in our Civilised Age” in ‘Thoughts on Sustainability Vol 2’ published by Ashridge Business School, Summer 2010.
