Project sharing engine survey outcomes

Following our successful funding bid from Nominet Trust, we officially started the ‘Project Sharing Engine’ project a few weeks ago. Having set up a range of criteria, we sent an invitation to all of the Transition Network website registrees who were also ‘web point of contact’ for their initiative.
We sent the mail to 318 recipients. 168 of them opened the mail (150 did not open it), and of those who opened, 70 clicked on the links therein.
Most of the clicks went straight to the survey, and some of them went to the blog post with the project outline. 1 person unsubscribed to the list and no-one complained. The top ‘opening countries’ were in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Germany.
57 people completed the survey.
This is a great response – thank you all for taking the time – we know how busy you are!
The invitation asked them if they would participate in one of two groups:
- an ‘alpha’ group who could meet three times from the start of the project and participate in an ongoing alpha design and testing process
- a ‘beta’ group who would participate in the beta testing (taking part later, and being wider spread)
Of the survey respondents:
- 42 chose to join the beta group
- 15 chose to join the alpha group
Next steps
The alpha group are meeting on Tuesday 1st November, which we’ll report on separately. The beta group will be added to a mailing list which Ed will update on suitable occasions with status updates and so forth.
